Many students struggle with writing - and in science class the most anxiety producing type of writing is that of lab reports. What causes these anxieties and what can be done to help students with these anxieties? Read some research I did on anxiety disorders and writing in the classroom: click here. Anxiety is often one of those disorders that are often brushed aside as self-imposed. I actually work at a boarding schooling for students with learning differences and many of them have anxiety that is directly correlated with academics ( I am sure lab reports make their anxiety go through the roof). A big part of that anxiety is the processing of the assignment, so I think the CAST program is a great tool to assist with this and therefore relieve some of the anxiety.
